Today is a very historic day for Batman fans, July 23rd is the Dark Knight’s birthday! Batman is a character that will always have a place in my heart. So with some spare time today I sketched Batman as portrayed by Adam West. A portrayal that very much brought Batman into the mainstream and started his path to film/television success.
I wish I can do something more….but perhaps that’s what the weekend is for! Have a piece of cake for ‘ol Batsy! Perhaps one of the best superheroes ever conjured!
Same bat-time. Same Bat-channel.
I had this idea a couple years back reintroducing myself to some Hammer Horror films and Peter Cushing as Abraham Van Helsing. He’s a character that not really explored as much as you’d think for someone who makes as many appearances in monster movies as the monsters themselves. I thought it be cool to have an animated series about the adventures of Abraham Van Helsing. It would be like Indiana Jones meets classic horror. It could take place at various stages of is life…basically how he became introduced to all these monsters and how this led him to be such a legendary expert on monster slaying. Anyway…just wanted to update the site with a little something. Sketched Van Helsing in ten minutes or so.
Tonight I drew a picture of Boris Karloff as The Mummy with a pencil and scanned it into photoshop. After digitally coloring using some strange colors and brushes I came up with this. Then I added some textures to the background. I like it. Looks like a trading card or something.
Happy fourth of July.
