You know when they offer you wine at Olive Garden? I can’t count how many times I’ve responded, “I do not drink…wine.” in a horrible Transylvanian accent. Well. Actually I can: 3 times I think.
Speaking of counts…
I sat down and painting Bela Lugosi’s Count Dracula this morning. Took me about 3.5 hours. I’m already getting used to digitally painting and I’m more pleased with the results with this piece than yesterday’s. I’m no Basil Gogos but you have to start somewhere.
Nothing like Metulana The Mutant from “This Island Earth” coming face to face with a nuke. I’ve been working on highlighting lately more so how extreme highlights can change the vibe of a picture. Red usually means danger (or romance if you’re into that) but usually danger…especially when it’s a giant mutant alien. But, again, could mean romance….with a giant mutant alien.
Wanted to do another cross hatching style drawing. When looking for nice crisp pictures of Lugosi as Dracula for reference there isn’t too much of a variety. The same ones are always done. So I found some rarer images and frankenstein’d (HA) together a “new” image to use as reference. And this was the result.
