Frank Miller’s 1986 “The Dark Knight Returns” was the comic that made me love comics. It has influenced countless amounts of people since its release. This morning I sketched one of my favorite panels from memory.

Today I wanted to draw a picture with a good range of value from dark darks to light lights! I’ve also been wanting to draw Superman for quite some time. So I went ahead and did (you guessed it) a value study of Superman. Took about 3 hours.
That’s going to be all for this week.
On to another day of drawing improvement with one of my favorite character portrayals from one of my favorite movies: Jack Nicohlson’s Joker from Tim Burtons 1989 Batman.
Not a favorite drawing of mine so far though. But another necessary step on the path to being a better artist!
